Good shoot,
1. Try to be away from the crop because its reduce the level of the photo.
2. The focus is lost on the photo, sure you are using f-stop under 2.8 because of that the focus is lost.
3. If you tried to use between f4 and f5.6 to show the focus.
4. The dark brown on the left side is confusing the eye of the one who will see the photo.
5. If you tried to show the child maybe it will looks better / or hide his head and show his hand only it will looks better.
6. Better to show the hand of the child, it looks like someone cut the photo from the side.
